AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE TRANSPORTATION PLANNER
CORE VALUES: SUSTAINABLE.INNOVATIVE.AND INCLUSIVE DESIGNS
I am a 1st Generation El Salvadoran American, who was born and raised in Richmond,Virginia. I attended Virginia Commonwealth University, for my B.S. in Geography & Urban Studies. After learning about the world of planning I traveled down to Florida State University and received my Master's of Science in Planning, specializing in Planning for Autonomous Vehicles (AV), Urban Design, and LGBTQ communities.
My work with AV planning has received multiple awards including a National AICP 2017 award, in which I worked with the Florida Department of Transportation on identifying autonomous vehicle policies & infrastructure investments for the State of Florida. For my most recent work with AV planning check out my Portfolio and News section of my site.
Since moving to Seattle, WA I have made it my quest to educate and provide Transportation Planners, Architects, Urban Designers, and the general public with the tools for implementing sustainable and inclusive design solutions for the integration of Autonomous Vehicles within our current transit infrastructure system.
In 2017, I embarked on a new venture and started Smash the Box (StBox or StBoxSEA), where I provide AV consulting services. These services include AV Planning 101, AV technology, Policy & Implementation at International / Federal / State / and local levels of Government, and understanding Seattle’s public perception of self-driving cars.
Not only have I dedicated my career to planning and designing cities for self-driving cars, I also spend my time volunteering for organizations. I am currently serving my 2nd term as the Director of Communications for the non-profit Young Professionals in Transportation International (YPT), and I am the Chair for the local non-profit YPT Seattle.
